The exhibition “Rzhev Memorial to the Soviet Soldier” was created by the Russian Military Historical Society together with the Victory Museum. It consists of 20 stands and tells about the heroism of the soldiers and officers of the Red Army who fought on the Rzhev land in 1942-1943. The stands also present the history of the creation of the monument. One of the stands is dedicated to retired aviation major general Alexei Nikiforovich Rapota. During the war years, he made more than 350 combat missions, 200 of them to the Rzhev area. “The exhibition is small, but very extensive. I think any visitor will be interested in learning, and maybe even discovering new facts,” says the son of Alexei Rapota, senator, member of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council, Grigory Rapota. В пятницу, 21 июня, во Ржевском мемориале советскому воину состоялись мероприятия, посвященные Дню памяти и скорби - концерт-реквием "Мы верны этой памяти" и открытие уличной фотовыставки, посвященной подвигу советского солдата. Почетными гостями стали авторы проекта Ржевского мемориала, лауреаты Государственной премии России скульптор Андрей Коробцов и архитектор Константин Фомин. Выставка «Ржевский мемориал советскому солдату» создана Российским военно-историческим обществом совместно с Музеем Победы. Он состоит из 20 стендов и рассказывает о героизме солдат и офицеров Красной Армии, сражавшихся на Ржевской земле в 1942-1943 годах. На стендах также представлена история создания памятника. Один из стендов посвящен генерал-майору авиации в отставке Алексею Никифоровичу Рапоте. За годы войны он совершил более 350 боевых вылетов, из них 200 в район Ржева. «Выставка небольшая, но очень обширная. Думаю, любому посетителю будет интересно узнать, а может быть, даже открыть для себя новые факты», — говорит сын Алексея Рапоты, сенатора, члена Комитета по международным делам Совета Федерации Григорий Рапота.
