The Samara Academic Opera and Ballet Theater invites spectators to the opera “The Tsar’s Bride”

The performance will take place on March 23 (12+). The international festival of opera art “Slavic House” presents Modest Mussorgsky’s opera “Boris Godunov”. The opera is based on real historical events telling about the difficult time for the country that came with the death of Boris Godunov, the arrival of the Poles and False Dmitry. Mussorgsky defined it as a folk musical drama, since the main character in it is the people, and scenes with them occupy a central place in the drama. The main roles will be played by brilliant opera stars. These are invited artists of the Helikon Opera, the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus: Boris Godunov – Dmitry Skorikov; Prince Vasily Shuisky – Honored Artist of Russia Mikhail Gubsky; Pimen – Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Valentin; an impostor under the name Grigory – Alexander Mikhnyuk; holy fool – Ivan Davydov. The part of Andrei Shchelkalov will be performed by the Honored Artist of Russia, People’s Artist of the Samara Region Vasily Svyatkin. Libretto by Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky based on the tragedy of the same name by Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. Director: Nina Chusova. The author of the idea and program of the Festival is S.P. Khumaryan, Honored Cultural Worker of the RSFSR, Honorary Citizen of the Samara Region. The artistic director of the festival is Evgeny Khokhlov.
