Дмитрий Кандинский / vtomske.ru The number of coronavirus cases in Russia has increased by 40% over the past week. The increase in infections has been noted in 82 regions, including the Tomsk region. According to the explica.rf portal, from November 13 to 19, 58.1 thousand new cases of illness were identified in the country, which is 40% more compared to the previous period (when only 41.4 thousand cases were identified). Almost a third of the coronavirus cases in Russia are concentrated in three regions: Moscow, Moscow region, and St. Petersburg. Over the week, 93 people died, and 39,731 people recovered, which is a 32.5% increase compared to the previous week. 6,398 people were hospitalized during the week, also showing an increase (+16.9%). As for the Tomsk region, from November 13 to 19, doctors diagnosed Covid in 357 residents of the region (compared to 188 the previous week), 38 people recovered (previously – 82), and 101 people were hospitalized (previously – 70). According to official data, two people have died from Covid-19. It is worth noting that the region is also experiencing a seasonal increase in acute respiratory infections – the epidemic threshold has been exceeded by 53%. A total of 9216 cases of illness were registered over the past week. However, no cases of flu have been recorded in the region. Sanitary doctors also note an increase in pneumonia cases – in October, twice as many people in the region fell ill compared to the same month last year.
