Nine cars of a passenger train traveling from Vorkuta to Novorossiysk derailed on the Inta-1 – Ugolny section of the Northern Railway at 18:12 on June 26. According to preliminary data, the incident occurred due to the explosion of the canvas in the middle of heavy rain. A total of 232 passengers were in 14 carriages, and 70 casualties were reported. The head of the Komi Republic, Vladimir Uyba, said that temporary accommodation was ready at the Inta hotel and school for everyone who was on the train.
