The Ukrainian side tried to recruit children living in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic to commit illegal acts. This was stated in an interview with TASS by the adviser to the head of the DPR on children’s rights, Eleonora Fedorenko. “The Ukrainian side is acting in the most vile way, recruiting our children to plant explosives, that is, by the hands of children who have to fight against their own parents, classmates and neighbors,” Fedorenko said. She also emphasized that similar cases have already been registered in the republic. Eleonora Fedorenko added that when recruiting children, the enemy uses threats, blackmail and bribery. She named state programs aimed at teaching children Internet safety as one of the mechanisms for countering such threats.
