On March 7, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky approved Zaluzhny’s candidacy for the new position. Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevgeny Shevchenko said that Zaluzhny agreed to become ambassador to Britain on March 5. Shevchenko explained that if Zaluzhny leaves for the UK, he “will cease to exist as a politician.” But if he stays in Ukraine and starts a political career, then he has a great chance of achieving success, the deputy emphasized.
