On Sportivnaya Street in Vladivostok, where the traffic pattern has recently been changed, a new road sign has appeared prohibiting anyone except private cars from turning left onto Fadeev. This means that trucks coming from Lugovaya will still have to take a long route and clog traffic. True, next to the new sign the old one remained hanging – “Only on the right”. Signs contradict each other and confuse drivers. As was already the case at the same crossing, but on the other side, contradictory signs were painted there, which were also confusing until they were removed. A new traffic regime on Sportivnaya Street was organized in July-August of this year. On the traffic island, which was previously permanently parked, two driveways and a service parking area were made, and drivers were officially allowed to turn directly onto Fadeev. The markings were applied only in October, but by that time drivers had already tried out the new scheme for a long time. Drivers also noticed new road signs in November. There are quite a lot of them here. First of all, the signs established the rule for using the new passage, two lanes wide: on the right lane – only straight onto Fadeev, on the left – only turn onto Lugovaya. Over these months, it has become clear that drivers often occupy both roads, waiting for traffic lights to turn straight, leaving no room to turn around. However, signs are unlikely to resolve this situation. The new signs also impose restrictions on heavy trucks. Not only are they now not allowed to turn towards Fadeev according to the new scheme, which they actively used, but they are also generally prohibited from occupying the far left lane in either direction. The decision is questionable, since it means that a truck coming from Lugovaya will have to get to the Borisenko-Vilkova fork and turn in the opposite direction, before reaching Fadeev. This increases the distance and possibly worsens traffic jams on Sportivnaya. But one sign especially confused drivers: before the new turn there was a sign “No left turn” with an additional sign “Except passenger vehicles”. This sign itself, by the way, does not apply to shuttle buses and does not prohibit turning (although another sign will appear later showing the direction of travel on roads only for cars). But the main thing is that the new signs were hung on the same pole as the old one, ordering all vehicles (again, except road transport) to turn right only. The mayor’s office has not yet been able to find out what this contradiction is connected with. Let us remind you that the same contradiction was previously observed on the other side of the intersection, how to exit onto Lugovaya. Here the marks indicated the direction of movement along the roads: on the first – only to the right towards Fadeev, on the second and third – only straight ahead. But the first lane, judging by the signs, is a lane for buses, with no right for other vehicles to change lanes, since the continuous marking extends to the intersection. It turns out that officially only minibus taxis can turn right onto Fadeev. Of course, the drivers did not pay attention to the arrows and drove on. still. And today, exactly two months later, the traces are almost completely removed.
