A monument to Joseph Stalin may be erected on the territory of Novokuznetsk. The location and format of the exhibition dedicated to the Soviet leader is currently being worked out, city mayor Sergei Kuznetsov said on the air of the “Morning with the Mayor” program. “I instructed my city planners and district leaders to think about where they could hold some kind of exhibition. And let’s think together about what it should be. After all, we have always had a KMK named after Stalin, our city was called Stalinsky,” the mayor noted, speaking about the possibility of a monument to Stalin appearing in Novokuznetsk. According to Kuznetsov, when deciding to install a monument, it is important “not to offend anyone.” The mayor mentioned the negative aspects of Stalin’s actions, and also noted that under this Soviet leader the country had achieved significant success in the economic and social spheres. Let us remember that at the end of last year it became known about the opening of the “Stalin Center” in the Altai Territory.
