Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree confirming changes to the list of federal roads, according to the Russian government website. According to the resolution, the M-12 highway under construction will be extended to Tyumen and renamed M-12 “Vostok”. In official documents, the route of the M-12 Vostok highway will be indicated in a new edition: Moscow – Kazan – Yekaterinburg – Tyumen. The expansion of the M-12 highway will be ensured by including a section of the M-7 Volga highway: Kazan – Dyurtyuli. In addition, the M-12 will include the Dyurtyuli-Achit section under construction, the Achit-Ekaterinburg section of the P-242 Perm-Ekaterinburg highway, as well as the P-351 Ekaterinburg-Tyumen highway. The creation of the M-12 “Eastern” highway will become part of the federal project “Construction of highways in the international transport corridor “Europe – Western China”. M-12 will provide high-speed road communication between the regions of Moscow, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, Sverdlovsk and Tyumen, the republics of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan and Chuvashia, thereby giving their economies an additional impetus to development. In addition, the M-12 “Vostok” will become part of the promising route “Rossiya” (“Russia”). West – East”), and will contribute to the expansion of trade channels with Asian countries, increasing the reliability and speed of supply of goods.
