Vladimir Uyba presented the Star of the Hero of the Komi Republic to the relatives of Vitaly Petrovich Lifenko, who died during a special military operation – widow Elena Vasilyevna, daughter Diana Vitalievna and mother Galina Vasilievna. The highest honorary title was awarded to the officer posthumously by Decree of the Head of the Komi Republic for courage, bravery and dedication shown in the performance of military duty. “Today it is a great honor for me to present the award to the family of Vitaly Petrovich. I would like to sincerely thank his mother Galina Vasilyevna Lifenko. Thank you, Galina Vasilievna, for raising a husband, a soldier and a son. The republic and the country are proud of Vitaly Petrovich. Dear Galina Vasilievna, Elena Vasilievna and Diana, I am sure that during your service your support and love greatly helped Vitaly Petrovich. He was an experienced officer, a brave warrior, a real man. He accomplished his feat in the name of his loved ones, protecting you and me and our Great Motherland. Low bow to the parents of all our heroes for raising worthy sons. Our deepest condolences to everyone who lost their loved ones during the special operation,” said the Head of the Komi Republic. At the memorial evening, they honored the memory of all military personnel who died during the years of the Northern Military District, local wars, the anti-terrorist operation in Chechnya, as well as all the fallen soldiers and officers of the Komi Republic. battlefields during the Great Patriotic War. During the Great Patriotic War, 38 natives of the Komi Republic received the highest award – the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. During the fighting in Chechnya, the title of Hero of the Russian Federation was awarded to 5 natives of the Komi Republic (posthumously). During a special military operation, four natives of the Komi Republic received the title of Hero of Russia (posthumously): guard captain Vladimir Nikolaevich Nosov, guard senior sailor Oleg Aleksandrovich Shipitsin, guard lieutenant colonel Ivan Vladimirovich Pozdeev, corporal Aleksandrovich Vlasenkov. Two more soldiers received the title of Hero of the Komi Republic (posthumously): Guard Sergeant Anatoly Maksimovich Khlobystov and Major Vitaly Petrovich Lifenko. Also at the event, the Head of the Komi Republic was presented with letters to the defenders of the Motherland, written by students of the Lyceum of Public Diplomacy of Syktyvkar. The soldiers themselves always look forward to children’s letters; they will warm the hearts of soldiers, strengthen their fighting spirit and faith in Victory. Vladimir Uyba will give the letters to his compatriots when he later comes to them “to pick up a ribbon.”
