The head of the Rosprirodnadzor department for Yakutia, Andrei Zholudev, was arrested until February 7, 2024 in a case of abuse of power, reports the joint press service of the republic’s courts. The investigation established that with the help of Zholudev, the mining company carried out illegal extraction of schlich gold, as a result of which the state suffered damage in the amount of 134 million rubles. In addition, violators of the law destroyed a forest area of more than 1.7 hectares, causing damage to the forest fund in the amount of more than 1.5 million rubles. The official who headed the Yakut department of Rosprirodnadzor since February 2022 was arrested at his workplace.
