“Gallery ZIM” and the Samara Regional Art Museum are expanding the boundaries of the perception of art through smell. 10 paintings, 10 smells, 10 stories await museum visitors from December 16 to January 31 at the exhibition “Russian Art” (16+). “Perfumery is very similar to fine art and architecture – it has its own traditions, trends, fashion. The synergy of aromas and paintings is an artistic tool that allows you to look at fresh works and improve their perception, because smells are easily perceived. connect with textures, materials, nature: the aromas of a fresh morning by the water, freshly cut grass or a tram rushing through the city with open windows,” the organizers say. The project “Smells of the Avant-Garde” involves 10 paintings. Russian avant-garde from the collection of the Samara Regional Art Museum. Based on text comments to the paintings, the Samara brand “Without Reason” created 10 fragrances: the semantic layers here are unrestrained and individual, because fragrances, like fine art, are perceived by people differently. The project also has an inclusive mission: smells will be able to convey more information about paintings to blind and visually impaired museum visitors. Avant-garde was not chosen for the project by chance. The main features of Constructivism, which became the basis of the ZIM-Gallery residential complex project, are rigor, laconicism and geometric forms, and it has grown into an independent movement straight from the Russian avant-garde, adopted a lot from it and spread. in a field such as architecture. “The collection of Russian avant-garde is the pearl of the collection of the Samara Art Museum. These works are known both in Russia and far beyond its borders. We are glad that she inspired the ZIM gallery to create perfumes. I hope that they will be as unique as our works,” said Alla Shakhmatova, director of the Samara Art Museum. “With this project, we would like not only to expand the boundaries of perception of art and architecture, but also to honor the memory of such a treasure as the Russian avant-garde. Historically, it is the Samara Art Museum that is the custodian of the richest collection of Russian avant-garde from different years – this is the great pride of every Samaritan and great happiness. “It’s so easy to come into contact with the best creations of avant-garde artists simply by visiting a museum on the main street of the city. The perfumers worked hard on the project and selected very detailed scents for the final paintings,” concluded Maria Ivanova, commercial director of the development company Alliance Management. The very idea of the project arose during the development of a special line of fragrances. scents for the home. aromatics as a gift to residents of the ZIM Gallery residential complex. Fragrances help complete the picture and build a new association with the place where a person dreams of living, understand what the residential complex project is about and what his future home will be. The olfactory project is available in the museum from December 16 to December 31 January 2024 when visiting the exhibition “Russian Art”. Entrance costs 150 rubles.
