In the morning, the Vatutina area was enveloped in yellowish, suffocating smoke. Residents pointed to the source of the smoke – the Allur Hotel, rebuilt from the former royal barracks. It has its own coal boiler house. The hotel explained that wet coal got into the firebox, there was indeed a little smoke, but now everything is fine. A resident of Vatutina, 4zh complained about acrid smoke that engulfed the entire area. A yellowish cloud spread throughout the houses, causing people around to cough. Judging by the video, there are many sources of smoke in the area; now there is a small industrial zone here. The smoke that caused such discomfort to the residents of new buildings on Vatutina came from the chimney of the boiler room of the Allur Hotel on Voropaeva, 41a. This building is one of many barracks from the tsarist period, and, as the hotel says, “the historical building of the last headquarters of a White Guard general in the Far East.” The hotel’s boiler room is heated by coal, and is located in a small ravine. The hotel does not deny the incident. According to the manager, a technical error occurred – wet coal got into the boiler room, which caused this effect.
