A reader of the VL.ru News provided new details of the incident in the village of Sibircevo on November 21, where the first Primorye residents of the season were rescued after falling through the ice. According to the young man, three men were walking on thin ice to the store. One man finally managed to get out by himself, while two others were trapped in the cold water. Regional firefighters eventually came to their aid, but locals were the first to rush onto the ice and into the water. One managed to inflate a boat, and the other approached the break in a polystyrene board – their compatriots are proud of their performances. This incident took place on the newly formed ice of the “Kirpichiki” quarry. The Ministry of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations had previously reported that the victims had decided to cut through the quarry, but did not specify that their final destination was simply the village store. According to rescuers, the people only fell in up to their waist, but even at that depth, it was difficult to reach the shore. It was initially reported that two people were rescued, but our reader reported that three had fallen into the water – one man managed to get out by himself. “I was sitting at home playing computer games when someone knocked on our door. I opened it and there was a man who said people are drowning. My mother called her friends – Valery and Yevgeny. They came, and Valery inflated the boat, tossed it into the quarry, swam to the drowning – he managed to load one into the boat, but couldn’t make it to the shore. During this time, Yevgeny threw polystyrene onto the ice and “skated” on it to the break, pulled out the second drowning person, and tied a rope to the boat. Only then did the firefighters arrive and pull the boat onto the shore with the tied rope,” said Ignat, a resident of Sibircevo. According to him, the events took place between 21 and 22 o’clock. Valery Krivets and Yevgeny Kaurov rushed to rescue the victims. They are now considered heroes in the village. It was reported that Yevgeny works in the police. Both without hesitation helped the drowning individuals, while also calling rescuers. Note that the information about the involvement of local residents in the rescue of the victims is currently being clarified by the regional emergency services.
