On the eve of Victory Day, the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) conducted a survey on how Russians perceive the May 9 holiday. The results are as follows: – 67% of Russians perceive May 9 as a great holiday and as the greatest victory of Russia in its entire history, – 25% of respondents answered that Victory Day is a day of memory and sadness for them, – 5% of Russians do not perceive May 9 as a holiday, because the events of the Great Patriotic War happened a very long time ago. “Nine out of ten of our fellow citizens talk about the Great Patriotic War in their families, and in recent years their number has increased. Such conversations practically never happen in every tenth family,” reports VTsIOM. There are fewer and fewer participants.
