On May 10, Reuters reported that the UN had warned that humanitarian aid supplies to the Gaza Strip would stop within days as food and fuel supplies ran low. The agency notes that the Israeli army has moved a ground operation into crowded Rafah, which is a key corridor for the delivery of humanitarian aid. Tanks blocked the main road dividing the eastern and western parts of Rafah, thereby surrounding the eastern part of the city. As the agency writes, citing local residents, explosions, shootings and battles between the Israel Defense Forces and Hamas continue in the east and northeast of the city.
