A 36-year-old city resident was detained on suspicion of a series of car thefts in the Zheleznodorozhny district. Investigators established the involvement of the offender in 4 cases of theft. He stole one of the cars from a parking lot near the administrative building on Limonov Street. The owner suffered 500 thousand rubles in damage as a result of the theft of a Toyota Corolla. During the investigation, it was established that the offender stole the vehicles for further disassembly and sale of used auto parts. The man owns his own gas station. During a search of the offender’s workplace, units and parts of the wanted vehicles and technical means intended for illegal entry into vehicles and operation of their engines were found. The suspect has no previous convictions. Criminal cases have been opened on the facts of the crimes, the investigation is ongoing.
