Now in the Rostov region, and therefore in Taganrog, parents of disabled children can count on regular assistance from social workers with supervision. Changes to the law on social services for citizens of the region were adopted at the last meeting of the Legislative Assembly. Previously, such support was provided only in emergency situations. New means include accompanying disabled children to school, kindergartens, clubs, cultural and sports events, as well as walks with children while they visit socially significant institutions. The Chairman of the Legislative Assembly noted that for many this may seem insignificant, but for parents of disabled children this is a huge help. This law provides support to families who find themselves in a difficult situation when it is necessary to take care of children, especially if there is not only a disabled child in the family, but also other children. The legislative initiative was proposed by the local branch of the All-Russian Organization of Parents of Disabled Children.
