“I would say that the situation remains alarming as hostilities continue at the moment. <...> I would characterize the situation as very delicate,” he said in an interview with RIA Novosti, recalling several drone attacks in April, including those targeting the reactor. He said the cases again forced him to appeal to the UN Security Council. The attacks continued in May, with one drone sent to a medical facility. The IAEA confirmed the absence of heavy weapons at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, but refused to name the source of the strikes. The UN said the agency was not ordered to conduct such an investigation. Grossi himself demanded evidence of Ukraine’s involvement.
