Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis have released footage of the seizure of the Galaxy Leader, a ship partly owned by Israeli businessman Abraham “Ramy” Ungar, known as one of the richest men in Israel.
The Houthis insist: the detained cargo ship is Israeli, it was captured as a sign of support for Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip against the backdrop of IDF actions.
Israel itself claims that it has no connection with the ship, which was operated by a transport company from Japan. They reported today that there was a crew of 25 people on board – citizens of Bulgaria, Mexico, the Philippines, Romania and Ukraine.
