In Kursk, a woman was detained for beating an 11-month-old girl. The child was urgently hospitalized in intensive care with a traumatic brain injury and other injuries, after which he was transferred to neurosurgery. The 11-month-old girl’s mother left her temporarily with her father’s partner. Later, neighbors found the beaten child in the hallway: one of them saw a woman “kicking a child crawling on the floor and screaming at him.” The accused was very drunk and could not say anything to the arriving police. A criminal case has been opened against the woman who beat the child. An administrative violation report was drawn up against the mother for improper performance of parental responsibilities for leaving her daughter with a woman who abused alcohol. The prosecutor’s office of the Kursk region has taken control of the investigation of a criminal case against a woman who caused serious harm to the baby’s health. The issue of choosing a preventive measure against her has been resolved. In addition, the prosecutor’s office monitors the implementation of legislation in the field of protection of family, motherhood and childhood. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia also ordered a report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case into causing grievous harm to the health of a child.
