The damage from his actions amounted to almost a million rubles. According to the regional prosecutor’s office, the Parabelsky District Court of the Tomsk Region found the 37-year-old resident of Novosibirsk guilty. He was found guilty under paragraph “e” of Part 2, Part 3 of Article 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal felling of forest plantations on a large and especially large scale). “From February to March 2022, a man illegally cut down 85 deciduous and coniferous trees without permission to cut down forest plantations on the territory of the forestry in the Parabelsky district. The felling of trees was carried out with the involvement of third parties who were unaware of what had happened. the illegal nature of their actions,” the department said. As a result of the actions of a Novosibirsk resident, damage to the forest fund amounted to more than 900 thousand rubles. The damage, according to the prosecutor’s office, was fully compensated. The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the man to two years and six months of forced labor. The state will retain 15% of its revenues. The resolution did not come into force.
