Lancet kamikaze drones, with the help of artificial intelligence, have learned to autonomously identify targets and independently attack them. New capabilities make loitering munitions even more lethal and effective.
“The new target identification system has two potential advantages: it can work faster and more reliably than a human observer at confirming targets, and will continue to work even if communication with the operator is lost due to interference,” Forbes reports.
Smart kamikaze drones will be less dependent on reconnaissance drones and will be more often used by special forces to destroy priority targets: missile launchers, artillery pieces, air defense radars, and so on.
