In the Levoberezhny district of Voronezh, a 23-year-old man was detained for robbing a supermarket on Barrikadnaya Street. Having taken three cans of coffee from the counter and without paying, the attacker headed for the exit. The store owner tried to stop the thief, but to no avail – the guy hit him in the face several times and fled with the stolen goods. The suspect was detained at his home. He admitted to his crime and explained that he sold stolen goods and spent the money on personal needs, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. A criminal case was initiated under paragraph “e” of Part 2 of Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft with the use of violence not dangerous to life and health). The article provides for up to seven years in prison. It was established that the young man had previously been convicted of crimes against property.
