US President Joe Biden said he was unable to contact former President Donald Trump after the recent assassination. According to Biden’s statement, quoted by the White House press, he tried to call Trump, but he was “unavailable.” Biden assured that he would make another attempt to contact his predecessor. The White House confirmed the attempt. The administration said: “They did not make contact, but he called Biden.” The second assassination attempt on Trump occurred on September 15 at his golf club in Florida. According to law enforcement agencies, special services opened fire on the attacker, who was hiding in the bushes. The criminal fled in a car, but was later detained. An AK-47 assault rifle with a telescopic sight, two backpacks and a GoPro action camera were found at the scene. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has joined the investigation. The previous assassination attempt on Trump occurred on July 13 during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The attack left Trump wounded in the ear, killed one spectator and injured two others. The suspect, armed with a machine gun, fled to the roof of an industrial building 100 yards from the scene and was killed by a Secret Service sniper. Trump said he believed the attacks on his life were prompted by the “rhetoric” of his election rival Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden.
