The ship is anchored in a lagoon on the Yangtze River. The fire started on August 16 at about 16:00. The ship burned all night. The fire was only extinguished in the morning. Dismantling and restoration work is reportedly underway in Minsk. Minsk is the second ship of Project 1143 Krechet. It was sold to South Korea in 1995 on pins and needles. Before the ship could be cut up, it was bought by a Chinese company and turned into a museum complex. In 2016, another company bought the ship, but for the past 8 years, the ship has been anchored in an artificial lagoon on the Yangtze River.
