The Olympic open water swimming tournament in the Seine has been cancelled. This was announced by Alexei Kalinin, a judge of the Paris Games. According to him, the final decision on holding the swimming relay scheduled for August 5 has not yet been made, but the open water tournament will definitely not take place. On July 31, the men’s and women’s triathlon stages of the Olympic Games took place. Before their start, unsatisfactory results of the water quality test of the Seine River were revealed, which interrupted the triathletes’ training schedule for several days. Athletes from Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands expressed dissatisfaction with the swimming conditions.
