The hockey club Lokomotiv (Yaroslavl) lost to Avangard (Omsk) in the sixth match of the second round of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) final. The meeting took place in Yaroslavl and ended with a score of 3:2 in favor of the guests. For the Omsk team, goals were scored by forwards Igor Martynov and Nikolai Prokhorkin, as well as defender Semyon Chistyakov. Defender Martin Gernat and forward Maxim Shaldunov scored goals for Yaroslavl. Thus, Avangard equalized the series score – 3-3. This will last until four wins. The next match between the teams will take place in Omsk on March 30. In the first round of the final, Lokomotiv beat the current winner of the Gagarin Cup – CSKA (Moscow). At the same time, Avangard defeated Lada (Tolyatti). All quarterfinalists of the KHL playoffs have been determined. From the 2023/2024 season, a cross-draw system was introduced at the second round stage. Teams from different groups will meet only in the final of the Gagarin Cup.
