On Friday, July 26, at 6:00 PM, there will be a curatorial excursion (12+) around the exhibition “Was/Wasn’t” (12+). The head of the Zavarka Museum and Gallery, Ekaterina Eliseeva, will introduce visitors to Samara folklore. Local fairy tales and epics have different content, because the most important feature of the Samara province is the multinational composition of the population. During the excursion, guests will walk through the halls, learn about the concept and idea of ​​the exhibition, and try to independently interpret stories, fairy tales, and legends. Entrance to the event is 250 rubles. On Saturday, July 27, at 4:00 PM, there will be a reading group “Stories about the gullible” (12+). This is a practice of collective reading of literature. As part of the exhibition “It Was/It Wasn’t” (12+), the project participants, together with Olga Ivaeva, PhD in Philology, administrator of the VKontakte social network of the Zavarka Museum-Gallery, will read and discuss texts from the book by Dmitry Sadovnikov “Fables and Legends of the Samaritan Region” (12+). According to the author of the book, local tales and epics have different content, because the most important feature of the Samara province is the multinational composition of the population. At the event, guests will discuss how this diversity of beliefs and customs is reflected in specific genres of folk prose. Entrance to the event is 250 rubles. On Sunday, July 28, several events will be held at Zavarka. At 2:00 pm, there will be an artistic reflection (12+) on the exhibition “It Was/It Wasn’t” (12+). Art mediation is a format that involves the active involvement of the viewer in the analysis of a work of art. The exhibition presents various versions of curatorial interpretations of fairy tales, legends, epics and bylinas of Samarskaya Luka. Visitors, together with museum researcher Anastasia Volynkina, will conduct their own analysis, get acquainted with the unique intangible cultural heritage of our region and will be able to feel like the main characters of the works. Entrance to the event is 250 rubles. At 16:00, visit to Mashtakov’s house (6+). The house on Samarskaya Street, where Zavarka is located, is one of the best examples of wooden architecture of old Samara, an object of cultural heritage of regional significance. The main details are unique elements preserved during restoration: stoves, ceilings, doors, fragments of wallpaper and plaster. During the excursion, visitors will walk through the halls, learn the history of the construction of the house and the fate of its owners Mikhail Mashtakov and Nikolai Markov, as well as other apartment buildings in Samara and their residents. Entrance to the event is 150 rubles (entrance ticket is not included in the price).
