On November 17, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court to recognize the International LGBT Social Movement as extremist and to ban its activities in Russia.
The Ministry of Justice’s lawsuit states that “in the activities of the LGBT movement operating on the territory of the Russian Federation <...> Various signs and manifestations of an extremist orientation have been identified, including incitement of social and religious hatred.”
The trial will take place on November 30 at 10:00 in the building of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. In November 2022, the case will be heard on November 30 at 10:00.
The Federal Council adopted a law banning LGBT propaganda among children and adults.
