The main thing is cultural development! • Russia today

Posting in CHAT: Russia

Continuing the project of our newspaper “The ABC of Our City”, I propose to return to the first letter of the alphabet – “A”, which I personally associate with the art museum “Art-Donbass” dear to my heart. I come to this amazing cultural space to escape from the bustle of the world around me, to enjoy new exhibitions and permanent exhibitions, and to take part in interesting events.

If we turn to history, the art museum “Art-Donbass” was opened on August 26, 2011 on the Day of the City of Donetsk and Miner’s Day. Originally it was an art and exhibition center, and since 2017 it has become an art museum. Its main task is to popularize, promote and develop the culture of Donbass.

It is worth noting that over the years of its existence, Art-Donbass has held hundreds of stationary and traveling exhibitions and signed dozens of partnership agreements with leading museums in different cities of Russia.

Every project carried out by Art-Donbass helps maintain the highest level of culture in our region. Interesting programs are being developed for Donetsk residents, attracting them to cultural events of national and international significance. First of all, these are exhibitions, as well as various thematic meetings, plein airs, competitions, conferences, cultural seminars, and presentations. Particular attention is paid to working with children. In addition, Art-Donbass has been working closely with the Union of Photographers of the DPR for many years.

I would like to separately emphasize that the active work of the Art-Donbass art museum continues even today, in such difficult war times. I regularly read in news feeds about new events related to the work of my favorite museum. For example, for the Day of National Unity, Art-Donbass presented a mobile tablet exhibition “Donbass – Russia: History and Modernity,” prepared by the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia. And on November 8, the museum presented a personal exhibition of watercolor drawings by Donetsk artist Elena Grigorieva “The Element of Colored Water” at the Lipetsk Regional Museum of Local Lore.

With all my heart I would like to wish further prosperity, new interesting projects and fruitful cooperation agreements to the Art-Donbass art museum.
