On the evening of March 22, a terrorist attack occurred at the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk near Moscow. Armed people opened fire before the start of the Picnic group’s performance, after which a fire started. A criminal case under article about a terrorist attack (205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was opened two hours after the attack. The investigation is being conducted by the Department for Particularly Grave Cases of the Department for Personal Affairs and Public Security of the Main Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee. The Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested seven of the 11 defendants in the case of the terrorist attack in Crocus; they were placed in pre-trial detention until May 22. All accused are citizens of Tajikistan.
