The Trans-Alfa company from the city of Vologda announced the completion of the lead 100% low-floor electric bus from a set of 26 vehicles for public transport in St. Petersburg under a 2024 contract. In fact, we are talking about the real start of mass production of a new electric bus, which was previously presented only as a prototype demonstrated at special exhibitions. The car differs from its competitors in its increased range on a single charge – up to 240 kilometers, which will allow it to be charged only after the end of the working day and not depend on charging stations. Another feature of the electric bus is a traction battery of 18 modules with a total capacity of 650 kWh, developed and produced in-house. On March 13, 2024, the Vologda company Trans-Alfa announced the start of mass production of new electric buses of its own design, Sirius, for the state enterprise Passazhiravtotrans in St. Petersburg. In the northern capital of Russia, Passazhiravtotrans is already building the first fleet of electric buses. It was also previously reported that the first batch of Siriuses will include 26 cars. According to the manufacturer, the Sirius electric bus is a completely domestic product, developed and produced at its own facilities in Vologda.
