The August attack caused the cooling tower of the plant to burn from the inside. Following the fire, the IAEA team observed charred sections of internal equipment located near the water nozzle distribution level. Officers also observed scorched plastic droplets and fragments of broken concrete scattered throughout the cold water pool.
