The drug MIR 19, developed by scientists from the Federal Medical and Biological Agency, is effective against new subvariants of the FLiRT coronavirus, TASS reports. As the FMBA press service explained, analysis of the available sequences of FLiRT subvariants showed that MIR 19 remains effective against them. MIR-19’s remit also includes a coronavirus variant called Omicron, of which FLiRT is a subvariant. According to the latest data from Rospotrebnadzor, more than 170 cases of infection with a new group of FLiRT coronavirus strains have been identified in Russia. Symptoms of infection with FLiRT variants are similar to those with the Omicron variant: fever, cough, sore throat, weakness, headache, muscle pain, loss of taste and smell.
