On the eve of Youth Day – June 27 – VSK Insurance House conducted a study of the lifestyle of modern youth. The main disease of young people is Internet addiction. Internet addiction is the most harmful habit among young people – this was stated by 26.5% of respondents. Moreover, it is more typical for women (37.6%) than for men (11.6%). The largest share of people dependent on social networks is observed among young people with low incomes (40% versus 26% and 24% among respondents with average and high incomes), as well as among residents of the regions (29.5% versus 21% among Muscovites). ). ). More than a quarter of young people spend 5-6 hours a day on the Internet (in addition to work and study), 22% of respondents – 3-4 hours a day, 18.5% – 8-9 hours a day. And only about 3% watch memes, read social media posts, or read the news less than 1 hour a day. About 59% of respondents would like to reduce the time they spend on the Internet. Most of them – 21% – are willing to spend time with their family in return. 18% would go to nature, 17% would spend time communicating with friends, 15% would just take a walk, 12% would engage in self-development, 7% would read a book, 5% would go in for sports. At the same time, despite Internet addiction, young people lead an active lifestyle: the majority of young Russians go in for sports – only about 74%. 51% of respondents go in for sports independently (at home or on the street), and 23.5 go to a gym or gymnasium. At the same time, there are more athletes among Muscovites than among young people in the regions (84% versus 67%). Regular physical activity is also more common among girls (77%) than among young people (69%). The main motivation of young people to play sports is to improve their well-being (63%), change of environment (30%), and good sleep (21%). Also, according to respondents, sports distract from the smartphone and video games (15%). The top five most popular sports include running and walking (31%), basic gym workouts (30%), yoga (23%), swimming (19%) and cycling (15%). The counter-rating of the least popular activities among young people included chess (5.8%), figure skating (5.8%), e-sports (5%), duathlon and martial arts (3% each). At the same time, girls are more likely to run (36% versus 22% among men), ride a bike (21% versus 6%), engage in electronic sports (5.6% versus 4%) and martial arts (4%). ). versus 2%). Men are more likely to go to the gym (35% vs. 26%) and go swimming (21% vs. 18%).
