A memorial plaque appeared in the Tanais Museum-Reserve – Russia today Posting in CHAT: Russia In the Tanais archaeological museum-reserve there is a memorial bas-relief in honor of the outstanding Don historian and local historian Valery Chesnok. Valery Fedorovich led the reserve for 30 years (from 1972 to 2002) and devoted his attention to it for another 20 years, until his death. Under his leadership, large-scale excavations of the ancient city began, the “Zaozernaya School” of poetry was born, and the regional tourism program “Silver Horseshoe of the Don” was developed. The initiative group, having raised funds for the installation of a memorial plaque, chose a sketch by the creative duo Sergei Oleshny and Yuri Dvornikov. Despite the fact that the sign has already been installed, its grand opening will take place on June 2, Pushkin Day, which was installed by Valery Chesnok himself many years ago. Valery died on May 2, 2023 at the age of 82. He rarely visited Taganrog. (lived in Rostov-on-Don). In my youth, I tried to enter our Radio Engineering Institute. But still, for many of our compatriots, Valery’s contribution is very important: many Taganrozh residents visit Tanais. S. The concessionaire of the Tanais park in Voronezh will be determined after the auction – Russia today Posting in CHAT: Russia An offer will be announced in Voronezh in the near future, following which the concessionaire for the Tanais park will be determined. Previously, the city authorities received an officially formalized initiative from entrepreneurs - potential investors are ready to invest about 415 million rubles in updating the park. According to federal law, the procedure for determining the concessionaire must be competitive. Other potential investors will have the opportunity to submit their proposals, but if no other proposals are received, a contract will be concluded with the organizer. The mayor of Voronezh, Vadim Kstenin, spoke about this on Thursday, March 28. Voronezh residents were reminded that Tanais will in any case remain a city and public park. “We already have positive experience of large-scale improvement at the expense of private funds - the Dolphinarium. Here, I’m sure, it won’t get any worse; I will personally supervise all improvement steps,” said Vadim Kstenin. The city administration also noted that the law provides for a rather lengthy procedure for concluding a concession agreement. Time will also be required to design the park landscape. The concept proposes dividing Tanais into functional zones: sports, children's, entertainment and others. The project also includes the recreation of the “Glade of Fairy Tales”, beloved by Voronezh residents, with themed sculptures of characters. The park will have fields for playing football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, as well as a sports ground, a pump path and a health path. Among the new objects is an archaeological sandbox , an amphitheater for events and a fountain. Investors are being sought for the reconstruction of Tanais from 2021. The recently presented concession initiative suggests that of the total amount of 242 million will go towards developing the park's infrastructure. They plan to recoup the investment through the operation of attractions, rental points, food courts, cafes, barbecue areas and other places and facilities.
