The development of a TSU student will reduce the percentage of defects when creating metal products Posting in CHAT: Russia A fourth-year student at the Mechanical Engineering Institute of Tolyatti State University (TSU), Roman Voronov, proposed a technical solution that would help the work of metalworking enterprises. The innovation of the idea ensured the student’s victory in the All-Russian Engineering Competition. The anniversary season of the competition was held at 13 faculties of science, students from 243 universities submitted more than 10 thousand applications. The winners were 54 students from all over Russia. Metalworking companies use digitally controlled machines. When a part is created, its actual dimensions differ from the original drawing, which can lead to defects and the entire part will have to be made again. Roman Voronov's technical solution will help change the situation. He proposed a new way to create the main structural elements - assemblies - of a production machine. If you create a machine using the technology of Roman Voronov, then the part created on this machine will more accurately correspond to the drawing, and the percentage of defects will decrease. Roman Voronov’s project entitled “Development of a bed of increased rigidity for desktop CNC machines” was created at TSU as part of the Higher Engineering School (ES) “Hybrid and combined technologies.” “The work has been going on since January of this year,” says Roman Voronov. – The main result is the development and substantiation of a technical solution that allows the creation of lightweight structures of increased rigidity, which are elements of machines that can be scaled, and therefore can be used in metalworking enterprises, both micro-small and medium-sized. The impact on the production process is to improve machining accuracy.” The expert jury, chaired by the first vice-president of the Union of Mechanical Engineers of Russia, Vladimir Gutenev, rated Roman Voronov’s work as excellent. The student and his supervisor, Associate Professor of the Department of Engineering and Technology of Mechanical Engineering at TSU Denis Levashkin, are tasked with developing the technology and further research. There is every reason to believe that the student’s developments will find application in real production. Roman Voronov has already received an internship offer from the Dipol group of companies. It is one of the leading suppliers of technological solutions for electronic production in Russia. The All-Russian Engineering Competition is an annual competition of undergraduate and graduate students presenting real engineering projects as part of their final qualifying works. Successful defense of a project at VIC gives the student the right not to defend a final qualifying dissertation at the university. Roman Voronov is now deciding whether to exercise his legal right. TSU students systematically participate and win in All-Russian engineering competitions. Thus, in 2016, the winners of the correspondence stage of the competition for individual projects of students and graduate students studying in engineering areas were Vladislav Kharitonov and Stanislav Zhdanov from the Institute of Energy and Electrical Engineering of TSU. In 2023, the competition was won by Sanie Barieva, a student at the TSU Institute of Chemistry and Energy. Source link Source link
