It was established that in July 2023, a resident of Pavlovsk found an offensive hand grenade (RGN) in a forest area. The man brought it home and began to hide it under slate near the barn until the police seized the item. An examination showed that the grenade was suitable for producing an explosion. In addition, in September 2023, the defendant selected two wild hemp bushes, dried them and began to store them at home for personal use. The mass of the substance was 184.38 grams, which is considered large. A criminal case was opened under Part 1 of Art. 222.1 (illegal storage of explosives) and Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal storage of plants containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, or parts thereof, in large quantities). The first article provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment, the second - up to 10.
