A resident of Buryatia invested money in an “investment project” and lost more than 1.6 million rubles. Posting in CHAT: Russia On May 31, the duty station of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Baikal Territory received a statement from a 42-year-old resident of the village of Turuntaevo. He wanted to invest his savings in the amount of about 370 thousand rubles in an investment project to increase them, but in the end he lost all his savings and remained a debtor of the loans taken out on him. The damage he suffered amounted to more than 1.6 million rubles. In mid-April, a village resident saw an advertisement on the Internet about “very profitable earnings” and began calling the numbers provided, but no one answered the phone. After some time, a girl contacted him, explained the essence of “profitable activity,” and then gave several instructions on creating a chat in one of the messengers, downloading the “necessary programs” and opening an investment account. It is noteworthy that she communicated with the applicant, including through video communication. According to the victim, his first investment was 5 thousand rubles. To make further transactions, he sent and entered codes that came to him in various applications. The citizen learned that the investment project was fake and that he had debts after receiving SMS notifications on his subscriber number about the withdrawal of money to repay loans and information about insufficient funds on his debit card. The man immediately tried and was unable to log into the government services portal. And a bank employee, whom he called by phone, said: he had been issued 4 loans totaling more than 1.3 million rubles. It also turned out that there were no savings in his accounts. A village resident contacted the police. All circumstances have now been established. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Buryatia reminds: deception under the pretext of investments is one of the most common methods of fraud. If you do not have special knowledge about the stock market, and the company with which you plan to make money does not have the appropriate license, leave this business. Source link Source link

A resident of Voronezh was fined 1 million rubles for slandering a policeman and an official Posting in CHAT: Russia For libel, the Gribanovsky District Court fined a resident of Borisoglebsk, 38-year-old businessman Alexander Lyubchenko, 1 million rubles. The man accused the chief of police and the head of the administration of the Borisoglebsk city district of committing particularly large-scale corruption crimes. According to investigators, the suspect knew that the information he provided was false, and the motive for the man’s actions was personal hostility. This was reported by the press service of the Gribanovsky District Court on Friday, May 31. In March 2021, Lyubchenko wrote a statement in which he reported “multi-million bribes” received by the above-mentioned officials and asked to check this information within the framework of anti-corruption legislation. Later, the suspect sent a statement to the administration of the President of the Russian Federation, from where it was received by law enforcement agencies, and the information in it “became known to an unspecified circle of people.” The Investigative Department of the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee for Borisoglebsk checked the man’s arguments set out in the appeal, but found no confirmation of his words. A criminal case has been initiated against Lyubchenko under Part 5 of Art. 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (slander of several persons, combined with accusations of committing especially serious crimes) and Part 2 of Art. 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (deliberately false report of a crime, combined with accusing persons of committing especially serious crimes). The first article provides for up to five years in prison, the second – up to three years. In March 2023, the Gribanovsky District Court passed a verdict on the second article and acquitted him on the first. But after a complaint from the prosecutor, the acquittal was overturned and the case was reopened. The accused did not admit his guilt. Earlier, the Bogucharsky District Court fined a 27-year-old resident of the Petropavlovsk district 10 thousand rubles for filing a knowingly false statement. He gave his ex-partner a car and then accused her of fraud. Details are in the material of RIA Voronezh. Did you notice the error? Select it with the mouse and press Ctrl+Enter.
