The 60th Anniversary of Soviet Power Park was denied recognition as a specially protected area Publication in CHAT: Russia The Commission for Development and Land Use under the Head of Samara did not agree to change the zoning in the park named after the 60th Anniversary of Soviet Power at a meeting on July 4. It was proposed to create zone R-4 (zone of specially protected natural areas) on the territory. Photo: PHOTO OF THE AUTHOR The park is currently located in zone R-3 (zone of natural landscapes). At the end of 2022, the territory was included in the green zone of Samara. All these measures are aimed at protecting the park from development. Let us remind you that part of the territory belongs to Laguna LLC, which had its own plans for the land. In the summer of 2024, the Samara administration held public discussions on changing the zoning to R-4. According to the authorities, the discussions were organized "in order to respect human rights to favorable living conditions." A total of 825 opinions were received. Of these, 539 were positive and 208 were negative. Dozens of opinions "against" were accompanied by comments about preserving the park. However, the Samara-headed Commission for Development and Land Use did not support the initiative to change the zoning on July 4, contrary to public opinion. Committee members expressed concern that the creation of the P-4 zone could hinder the improvement of the territory in the future. Members of the initiative group for the protection of the 60th Anniversary of Soviet Power Park recommended changing the zones and presented a plan for the further development of the site (see below). The Commission proposed to continue discussing the fate of the park in a working group format. Latest news Source link Source link
