Participants and speakers discussed how they can help each other prepare candidates for technical specialties. Physics teachers told what schoolchildren lack in mathematics, and Moscow State University teachers noted the importance of early preparation of students for project activities - it will be useful for future students to write coursework and dissertations. The school's teachers told teachers how to integrate solving problems with parameters into the curriculum, how to use a smartphone in research, and find new ways to solve USE problems. Teachers from the Krasnodar region, in turn, shared the difficulties in motivating modern schoolchildren, who are quickly carried away by new ideas, but often lose interest in them. The educational intensive of the Volnoye Delo Foundation was the first step towards cooperation between schools and universities, which in the future can improve the quality of education in the field of exact sciences. “The world is changing rapidly, and children are changing with it. Our task is to keep up with them and constantly improve the educational process,” says Alexey Seliverstov, associate professor of the Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. “Today we cannot teach as we did yesterday.” It is important to show schoolchildren all the beauty of physics and mathematics, to restore keen interest in them, and for this, first of all, to ignite teachers - to show beautiful solutions to complex problems, to convince them that mathematics and physics are accessible to every student. Over the past two years, the number of graduates taking the Unified State Exam in mathematics and physics has decreased by a third. The main task of the autumn school is to help teachers interest students in studying the exact sciences and engineering professions. “We have been working for many years to ensure that graduates choose engineering specialties, because we know that the future of the country depends on it,” notes Elena Teploukhova, a physics teacher at school No. 19 in the village of Ladozhskaya. - I want this. let children glorify their native land with great discoveries and developments, create new equipment, build reliable buildings and work in large industries.” The participants of the autumn school were shown how to involve children in science: in an accessible form, talk about modern physics, the physics of the microworld, showing the connection between objects and life and finding new methods for solving complex problems. Moscow continues to support the development of education in the regions today. Two years ago, with his support, the First University Lyceum named after N.I. Lobachevsky opened in Ust-Labinsk, where talented high school students from all over Russia study natural and exact sciences in depth. 100 physics and mathematics teachers from eight districts of the Krasnodar Territory took part in the autumn school in Kuban. Previously, similar educational intensives were held in Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk. In 2024, the Volnoe Delo Foundation plans to hold a spring school for chemistry teachers.
