A woman who arrived in her private car from Finland brought into Russia, at the customs post Salla, a tanned deer skin without marking and packaging and without a customs declaration. At the same time, it was suitable for making fur products. However, according to the law, tanned skins are subject to mandatory veterinary control when imported into the EAEU territory. They must be imported with a veterinary certificate, specifying the number and name of the company that released the skin into circulation. The website of the Rosselkhoznadzor has a register of companies in countries producing fur products. But the citizen did not provide documents confirming the production of the skin by a company in a country included in the register. She also did not have a receipt from the store and a veterinary certificate confirming the safety of the imported product, so the customs authorities confiscated the deer skin. Following the court hearing, the court found that an administrative offense had been committed and imposed a punishment in the form of confiscation of the object of the administrative offense – the deer skin.
