Agrostartup helped Izhma beekeepers expand the production of taiga honey Posting in CHAT: Russia"Agrostartap" helped beekeepers of Izhma increase the production of taiga honey "Agrostartap" helped beekeepers of Izhma increase the production of taiga honey The "Agrostartap" grant helped beekeepers of the Izhemsky district increase the production of northern taiga honey, reports the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The farm of Margarita and Alexei Damm from the village of Bryka has 12 bee colonies of the Central Russian breed, but a couple of farmers plan to increase their number to 35. The Damm spouses began making honey last year. We bought 2 bee colonies and the equipment necessary for the work. The farming enterprise (farm) was registered in May last year. Currently, farmers have 12 bee colonies of the Central Russian race, but plan to increase the number of bee colonies to 35 bee colonies and produce about 775 kilograms of honey per year. And this dream came true thanks to the Agrostartup* grant. In May of this year, Margarita Damm’s business plan for breeding honey bees and producing honey was among the winners of the competitive selection of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Komi Republic. Using its own and grant funds, the farm purchased UAF “Farmer”, equipment for honey production and keeping bees, and bee packages. The Damms also want to try their hand at so-called log beekeeping. “Our hives are wooden, without the use of glue or paint. We don’t feed the bees sugar; they overwinter with their own honey. They build their own honeycombs, we do not use purchased foundations, and we also do not use drugs in our work,” the beekeepers said in an interview with the Yurgan TV channel. The manufactured products will be actively promoted in the Izhemsky region, as well as on social networks. Young farmers from the northernmost apiary of the republic have good experience in creating websites and offering various goods and services on the Internet. In addition, Damm has been involved in entrepreneurship in the tourism sector for several years. Having started raising bees, they treat guests to honey from the northern taiga and see great interest in it. It is planned that some of the products will be purchased by tourists. *Implemented within the framework of the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives”. Since 2019, when the implementation of the “Agrostartup” direction began in Komi, six farms have provided support for the development of beekeeping. The total cost of beekeepers' projects is 11.2 million rubles, of which the subsidy is 10.1 million rubles. Source link
