This was reported in the regional department of natural resources; the all-Russian project “Electric Autumn” is implemented annually. Its goal is to raise awareness about the importance of recycling e-waste. In 2023, the event will be held in 79 regions of Russia, including the Tomsk region. During November, Russians can hand over old equipment and batteries. As the editors of vtomske.ru explained in the regional department of natural resources and environmental protection, in the Tomsk region only batteries are accepted as part of the promotion. They can be handed over to special containers installed at M.Video and Eldorado at the following addresses: Solnechnaya Street, building 2, building 4, TomLad shopping center (Seversk); Kommunalnaya street, 53 (Strezhevoy); Irkutsk Trakt, 61, building 1 (Tomsk); Lenin Avenue, 121, TSUM shopping center (Tomsk); Komsomolsky Prospekt, 13B, shopping center “Emerald City” (Tomsk); Kotovskogo street, 19 (Tomsk); Lenin Avenue, 217 (Tomsk); Nakhimova street, building 8, building 13, Leto shopping center (Tomsk). All collected batteries will be transported for further processing to the site of the Megapolisresurs group of companies in the Chelyabinsk region. According to the association, seven types of batteries and accumulators are accepted for recycling. A five-step recycling process removes iron, non-ferrous metals and their salts from batteries.
