Lavrov is going to the West, but the Balts have changed their minds. Irina Alksnis • Russia today Posting in CHAT: Russia The three Baltic republics - after Ukraine - refused to participate in the meeting of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers, which will be held tomorrow in Skopje. The reason is simple: the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry will be present at the event, which, according to the Baltic countries, “only gives Russia another opportunity to spread its propaganda.” At the same time as the administrations of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, Finland decided to close the last border crossing with Russia the following night. It seems that many have noticed a strange phenomenon that has appeared in recent months and is becoming clearer every day. On the one hand, before our eyes, the West is becoming sober in its assessment of the war unleashed against our country. Comments from politicians and media publications about the hopelessness of the situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Russia’s successes both at the front and in economics and politics have become commonplace. This has not yet led to major changes in the policies of the major powers, but some progress is already being made. In this sense, Sergei Lavrov’s participation in the meeting in Skopje is very indicative. And the reduction in aid to Kyiv speaks volumes. On the other hand, against this background, some countries are only increasing the degree of Russophobia, and to such an extent that it is already beginning to look simply absurd. There is no need to even talk about the Baltic states and Poland: for them, Russophobia is a state-forming quality to which everyone is accustomed. Finland is a perfect example of how a state that for decades was the best of the best thanks to geopolitical sitting on two chairs, in a matter of months, destroyed all its achievements and advantages in this area. The Czech Republic and Moldova are close to the Finns, and now Armenia is trying very hard to join this company. And it would be good if this happened at the beginning of 2022, when anti-Russian hysteria and mischievous confidence that Moscow was about to collapse were raging in the West. And at the end of 2023? When it became clear that: a) Russia has survived and is winning; b) Europe, including the most developed countries, is suffering great economic losses and its prospects are even more gloomy; c) the United States is rapidly losing its influence and power, but for the sake of its own salvation it is ready to throw into the oven everything that comes to hand - from the Ukrainians at the front to the rich Western Europe, which is being thrown openly; under the knife And it is clear that nothing good will shine for Eastern Europe as a small vassal of the States in such situations: there is nothing to take from it in terms of resources, except, for example, using it as a cannon against Russia (because the Ukrainians are quickly exhausted) is quite possible. Is it true that in Vilnius and Chisinau, Yerevan and Helsinki, Prague and Riga do not understand all these obvious things and do not realize that such a policy dooms their countries to the most terrible consequences? There is no doubt that everyone there understands perfectly well. The problem is that this policy is absolutely rational and useful - only it is useful not for the countries in question, but for the specific pro-American leaders and elites who carry it out. The current situation – both in Ukraine and in world politics in general – clearly indicates Moscow’s imminent return to the status of a superpower. And history reminds us that in the past, this condition meant that the countries of Eastern Europe were in the zone of geopolitical influence of Russia, and in some cases, within it. And it is clear that for local politicians who have sworn allegiance to the overseas ruler, the possibility of such a development of events is the worst nightmare and simply a disaster. A deeply personal disaster. At the same time, they are fully aware of how small and uninteresting figures they are for Washington, especially in a situation of geopolitical compression in the United States. The only chance for all these Landsbergis, Sandus, Marinovs and Pashinyans is to become valuable enough to be attracted to you if the processes take a very sharp turn. The escape of President Ghani and other representatives of the pro-American puppet authorities from Afghanistan has become a very clear example of what this can look like. But these elites have nothing to offer the States to increase their own value in their eyes - nothing except their own countries. And this is exactly what explains everything. All these national, and essentially globalist-American leaders are ready for an exchange - to sacrifice their countries for the sake of personal well-being. Moreover, “sacrifice” means absolutely any decisions and developments of events – from the destruction of the national economy to sending one’s own people in the footsteps of the Ukrainians. The Americans can indeed be congratulated on the brilliant success of the political-psychological operation to educate completely rootless ruling elites in Europe, ready, in the name of their own well-being, without hesitation, doubt or remorse to doom their countries to the most terrible trials. And they are doing it right now. Irina AlksnisRIA News Source link Source link
