An athlete from Bolshoy Kamen won gold at the World Universal Karate Championship Posting in CHAT: Russia Bolshoy Kamen athlete, 15-year-old Valeria Bobryakova, became the winner of the World All-Division Karate Championship - the first in the history of the Far East. The world championships and championships were held in the city of Orel from November 5 to 12, and more than 3,000 athletes from 26 countries and 55 regions of Russia took part in them. To win, Valeria had to lose several kilograms of weight and spit on different disciplines - attend training in samba, boxing and hand-to-hand combat. Her coach told the VL.ru News correspondent how the world competitions in all styles of karate were held, the principles of preparation for them, the awards received and plans for the future. All-style karate. This is a very young type of martial arts, only in 2014 it was included in the All-Russian Register of Sports. Now general style karate includes 35 styles and many disciplines. During the fight, athletes strike, kick and throw, and there are three types of fights: limited contact, full contact in protective equipment and full contact fights. The discipline of "full contact in protective equipment" is actually a mixed martial art; The stand-up style uses striking and wrestling techniques. In a prone position, it is allowed to pursue the enemy with painful and choking techniques, as well as finishing off with hands on the body and head. 15-year-old Valeria Bobryakova and Vadim Drageruk from the city of Bolshoi Kamen competed in this discipline at the World Championships in Orel - their coach was Denis Yurievich Stepanov. Six months ago, young athletes had already received awards at the Russian Championship, so they had the opportunity to represent Primorye at higher-level competitions. Preparatory stage. Children were trained according to general standards - 4-5 training sessions per week. As coach Denis Stepanov said, in addition to the main training, those who are preparing for serious competitions should also participate in fights with athletes of related martial arts. His students have been training with sambo wrestlers for many years - they fight according to their rules. And also before the Russian and world championships, Valeria and Vadim additionally participated in fights with boxers and went to Fokino, where they learned hand-to-hand combat. Valeria Bobryakova competed at the World Championships in the weight category up to 51 kilograms and, on the recommendation of her coach, began her “hard race” two months before the start - in September she weighed 58 kilograms. On the last day before the official weigh-in ceremony, Valeria had to “lose” one and a half kilograms. The girl coped with this task, working as hard as she could in pairs, “on her feet” and running. When she didn’t have enough strength, she was seated near a hot radiator and covered with jackets and jackets - and all in order to start sweating heavily. On November 7, the official weigh-in ceremony showed that the goal had been successfully achieved - 50 kilograms 950 grams. “For competitions of this level, this is a standard procedure, that is, everyone “presses the weight” to enter the desired weight category. This is such a tactical trick, and everyone uses it. Valeria's usual weight is 58 kilograms. To participate in the Far Eastern Federal District Championships, she also “raised the weight” - up to 55 kilograms, and for the Russian Championships she already “gained” up to 51 kilograms, just like at the World Championships. The “weight race” began two months ago, the beginning of world competitions. We comply with all the conditions in order to “drive” weight correctly: we do not eat flour, sugar, we “ride” on vegetables and cereals. This does not cause harm if you do not “drive” it sharply. For us, everything was slow and gradual - after weighing, you can immediately drink and eat so that the weight begins to normalize. On the day of the competition, our athlete fully recovered and her weight was 55 kg,” said coach Denis Stepanov. World. At the Drageruk Championship, Vadim competed in the weight category up to 48 kilograms with his own weight of 47 kilograms 500 grams - he did not have to “move” anything. But his rivals were actively involved in this - just a day after the weigh-in ceremony, at the time of the competition, they weighed much more than the athlete from Bolshoy Kamen. “In martial arts there is an expression “to underweight” - that’s what Vadim is talking about. And if at local tournaments and at the Russian Championship he managed to win or take prizes, then at the World Championship the situation with weight had a negative impact on the result. Vadim lost the fight for third place. I lost to an athlete from Dagestan, the same one I met in the final of the Russian Championship,” the coach clarified. With Valeria Bobryakova the situation was different. Throughout the entire Championship, not a single opponent was able to successfully throw it: as the opponents later admitted, they simply could not lift it. However, the fight for first place was still intense, Valeria faced a difficult opponent - the main time of the battle ended in a draw. To determine the winner, the judges ordered an additional round, which ended with a score of 4:1 in favor of the Primorsky athlete. The girl became the first winner of the World All-Style Karate Championship from the Far East. Award and plans for the future At the World Championships, Valeria actually won the highest prize, because universal karate is not yet an Olympic sport; There is simply no higher level of competition. However, in 2024, the coach plans to again exhibit his winner at world competitions. Denis Stepanov has been coaching for more than 15 years, and before that his students received awards only in the Far Eastern Federal District and the Russian Championship - this is the first time such a result has been shown. Now about a hundred athletes are training with Denis Yuryevich. Note that at the moment Valeria and Vadim still have their first sports categories; they still cannot become “candidates for master of sports.” In this sport there is an age criterion that does not allow you to “jump” the category. Valeria and Vadim competed in the 14-15 year old category, and until the age of 16 they will not be able to increase the first sports category. As soon as young people cross this age threshold, they will again have to participate in the Russian Championship: to receive awards in the 16-17 year old category, they automatically receive the “candidate master of sports” category. And only from the age of 18 athletes can participate in the All-Style Karate Championship. After a great victory for the entire Far East, Valeria was congratulated in a solemn atmosphere, sponsors and parents appointed a “prize” - they gave 50 thousand rubles. The Federation does not pay for flights to competitions, meals and accommodation, so they were looking for sponsors. The general director of the Visit-DV company Andrey Akimov, the general director of Fuji Andrey Korchuganov and the director of the Ferma restaurant Timur Solovyov responded to help.
