According to the Central Bank, as of June of this year, inflation was 8.6%, but by the end of the year it may either increase or decrease. For example, in 2023, it doubled in six months — from 3.25% in June to 7.42% in December. As a result, pensions were indexed by 7.5% in 2024. It is difficult to say yet what will happen to inflation at the end of 2024, but it is expected that the average minimum increase in pensions will be approximately 1,300 rubles. In February, the entire pension will be indexed: both the fixed payment and the insurance part. The fixed payment is the same for everyone, it is set by the government. The insurance part is formed at the expense of the minimum pension coefficient. Pension coefficients are calculated depending on the salary, so their number is different for everyone and the final pension amount, therefore, is also individual. The second indexation will affect only the insurance part — the cost of the IPC will increase. Pension points used to become more expensive every year, but usually in January, and now they will be in April. “At this stage, the size of insurance pensions will be indexed taking into account the increase in Social Fund income,” the Social Fund reported. “Such an increase will only affect the insurance part of the pension, that is, the one that is formed by the individual pension coefficient.
