Due to rising egg prices in the regions, the government is taking action. Last week, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov held a weekly meeting on the situation with prices for socially important goods. Following the meeting, some instructions were given, including the FAS, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, tasked with conducting an analysis of the validity of price increases by manufacturing companies. “Also, the Ministry of Agriculture should study the possibility of increasing the import of chicken eggs, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade should make efforts to encourage manufacturers and retail chains to conclude long-term supply agreements to ensure their forecast volumes and prices,” they reported.
