In 2018-2019, based on her internal records and the issuance of orders, some university employees received inflated amounts of money, which, after actual receipt, they were supposed to transfer to Kopteva. Thus, she created the appearance of legality in the expenditure of funds. In the first case, she was returned 130.5 thousand rubles, in the second – 160 thousand rubles,” the United Press Service of the Judicial System of the Kursk Region reported. The Kursk Regional Court changed the verdict: it overturned it on the basis of a conviction on one episode of theft (160 thousand rubles) and an acquittal on two charges of theft (75 and 50 thousand rubles), transferred the case to this part (three episodes) for a new trial in the same court. Having again considered the case under three articles, the Leninsky District Court found her guilty of theft of 160 and 50 thousand rubles and acquitted her of theft of 75 thousand rubles. The new decision was again appealed by both the state prosecutor and the lawyer of the convicted woman. As a result, the Kursk Regional Court overturned the decision to acquit Kopteva under Part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (one episode) and in this part sent the case for a new trial to the same court. The rest of the same court verdict (on two episodes of conviction under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was left unchanged.
